A range of interactive training courses for teachers:
playing with science (KS 1 -4)
This interactive workshop consists of an initial presentation illustrating some of the many different ways that toys can be used to motivate pupils and promote active learning in science; followed by an opportunity for participants to explore and share ideas about using the wide range of displayed toys in their science teaching.
doing demos (KS 1-4)
Demonstrations have a long history in science education. They are popular with pupils and teachers, but what place do they have in today's hands-on classrooms? This workshop will explore why and how we use interactive demonstrations in science education, and will consider what are the key elements of effective demos? There will be lots of demonstrations to illustrate issues, and participants will be able to practice demonstrations skills in small groups.
